John Nugent Way Bridge Repairs

Scope

• The bridge had significant structural cracking to the abutments caused by movement of the girders that were seated directly on bearing palates on the concrete abutment

• Ecospec completed the repair to the abutments, insertion of Granor Bridge Bearings and Granor Deck movement joints

• The works included temporary jacking of the bridge to unload the bearing points and allow insertion of the bearings, as well as the removal and replacement of the stone facing wall to the abutment

• All work was completed without any disruption to traffic on the bridge.
